HOME/SCHOOL ADVISOR NEWSLETTER

Welcome Back!
The school year is off to a great start!  It is so much fun to see all the children returning to school, eager to begin another year of learning.  I introduced myself to your children the first week of school and would like to introduce myself to YOU!

Who is the Home/School Advisor?
My name is Pam Carpenter and this is my 14th year at Jones Elementary.  I have a Masters Degree in Social Work and have been working with children and families for 38 years.  I am married and have two adult children ages 28 and 25.

What Services does the Home/School Advisor provide?
During the school day, I provide the following services: individual counseling, group counseling, classroom presentations, teacher and parent consultations, and crisis intervention.  Group counseling may address issues like divorce, loss of a loved one, making friends, resolving conflicts, and middle school readiness.  Individual support counseling may be requested by the student, teacher or parent for the issues listed above and other concerns.  If your child is having difficulty paying attention, finishing class work or home work, I am able to offer a brief assessment and consultation, and individual support.  Linking families with community resources if also part of my role.

How do I contact Mrs. Carpenter?
Parents or Guardians of our students are welcome to contact me anytime from 8AM until 3:20PM, Monday through Friday.  You may stop by my office or call me at 764-6645 or 763-8025.  I am also available to come to your home to talk over your concerns during the day or after school.  Our conversations will be kept confidential.  I am looking forward to talking with you and to another great year at Jones Elementary School!
